Highlands and Trail Journeys have teamed up to bring you Central Otago’s best E-Bike experience.
Pick up your bike from Highlands and set off through the vineyards of Bannockburn before hitting the new trail as it weaves its way around the shores of Lake Dunstan.
Your hire is a full day bike hire so you can take your time and stop along the trail to really enjoy the majestic scenery.
Once you arrive at Clyde, make your way to the Trail Journeys depot to drop off your bikes. The Trail Journeys team will take care of getting your bikes back to the Highlands depot. If you require transport back to Cromwell, you add this to your booking for $40 per person. Transport back from Clyde is available at 2pm or 5pm.
Enjoy the local trails all the way out to Pisa Moorings and Smiths Way.
Please do not use this booking option if you wish to ride the Lake Dunstan Trail, this option is intended for riding in and around Cromwell and Bannockburn only. You are required to return the bikes back to Highlands. Bikes must be returned to Highlands by 4pm.
This is your ticket to exclusive, at your own pace access to the scenic Highlands Track on your own bike. The quiet and tranquillity of the Highlands track in the morning is unparalleled and you will marvel at the beauty of this magical place that is usually bustling with the sounds of speed!
The track is exclusively yours to spend as much time on during the hour as you like. Do one lap or 10, take a scenic lap – stopping to take pictures from vantage points that the public usually do not have access to, or put your pedal power to the test to record your fastest lap time.
Once you’re done you can have a cup of coffee in Highlands Cafe, enjoy the spectacular views of the track and the scenery and take a pitstop in our Loo with a View!
Please note, this experience is run by Highlands and it is not possible to hire bikes.
Our e-bikes are unisex “hardtail” trail bikes – bit of a hybrid between a mountain bike & a commuter bike. Hardtail means no rear suspension!
