Highlands Champions Road Safety with Free Winter Driver Training for Central Emergency Services
Central Otago, New Zealand – August 10, 2024 – It’s no secret, that the team at Highlands, who are leading advocates for road safety, are driven to change the needle on road deaths in New Zealand. Leading by example and walking the talk they wanted to equip those who serve our community with the necessary skills to stay safe on the roads. Recognising the invaluable service provided by the Fire Brigade and St John's teams, the team wanted to ensure that these frontline responders have the practical knowledge to navigate the challenges of New Zealand roads safely.
Josie Spillane, CEO of Highlands and a Trustee for the Tony Quinn Foundation. – Road Safety, spearheaded the initiative to have the team reach out to these outstanding organisations. The response from the Fire Brigade and St John's teams was overwhelmingly positive, demonstrating their eagerness to enhance their road safety skills.
Brent Anderson, Senior Station Officer of Cromwell Volunteer Fire Brigade – We would like to extend our sincerest thank you to the Highlands team for their exceptional instruction and dedication during our Winter Drive Experience today. The expertise and hands-on practical training provided was invaluable. We believe this will help us to respond more effectively and safely in adverse weather conditions. We thank the Highlands team for their contribution to our road safety.
Highlands Winter Driver Training is part of its broader commitment to making a lasting impact on road safety in New Zealand.
